What is a good website to learn spanish on? (that maybe has audio pronunciation of the words)?
I have been learning from books, and let me tell you. It is ten times harder for me because I don’t know how to pronounce half of them!
Ant help would be great. Thank you.
There is a lot of audio courses online, but trust me that the best ones are those mixed, where you have both written texts and audio lessons. Audio helps you a lot with pronunciation while text books focus on grammar. There are many different courses on the net, but the quality vary. I had a good experience with this one: http://www.lessonsofspanish.com/
Looking for the correct pronunciation of some Spanish locations?
What is the correct pronunciation of the following Spanish locations:
Columbretes… as in Islas Columbretes off the coast of Valencia
Melilla… Spanish city on Moroccan coast
Ceuta… Spanish city on Moroccan coast
Spanish pronunciation is pretty simple.
You have pretty much only one way to pronounce most letters, some of those that have more than one, the differences being dictated by the letters after them.
C followed by an e (or an i) is pronounced as th in English…
A as in Father
e as in weight or bet
I is an EE as in street
o as in home (a tiny bit shorter)
u as in oo, like food
So… Ceuta = They oo tah
ll is a cross between a y and a j in English.
Melilla = Meh lee yah
Columbretes = Koh loom breh tehs.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to improve my Spanish accent? Or even a pronunciation URL?
I have an audition coming up for the part of Maria Elena in The Buddy Holly Story and could do with some advice on how to sound as though I have an authentic Latino accent.
Thank you!
Hi!
I hope to be able to explain well. All the vowels in Spanish must have one single sound in their pronounce. When you say in English a vowel for example, “A” in the word “Came” you make two sounds, therefore, a person who speaks spanish understand: “e-i” ("E" like in "End" and "I" Like in "it") The vowel “A”, in spanish says itself like in the word: “Absolut”. Now I will give you several examples of the rest of the vowels and the consonants that change their pronounce in spanish.
A – Like in "Back" "Alive"
E – Like in "Empty"
I – Like in "It" "String" "Sing"
O – like in "Door" "Dot"
U – Like in "Pub". (You must "cut" the "i" before "u" always.)
B, C, D, F – Don’t worry, it’s the same
G – Like in "Goal" "Amazing" "Great"
H – It writes but do not pronounce
J – (This is the curious one) always like in "Hit" "Hot" "Here"
K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W – The same
X – Some times, is pronounced like "H" in "Hit" When you say "Mexico", You must say it like "Mehico" That is the only difference.
Y, Z – Always the same.

The Spanish pronunciation of "Angelica"?
I’m not pregnant or anything, but lately I’ve been thinking about the name "Angelica". However, I don’t like the way it sounds in English (An-Jel-ica), and I like the way it sounds better in spanish (An-hel-ica).
This is purely out of curiosity, but do you guys think that the the Spanish pronunciation sounds ugly in English? I speak Spanish, so I’m used to the way the way it sounds in it, but I’d like to get your personal opinion.
I like Angelica better pronounced in English and Angelina pronounced in Spanish. I don’t really like Angelica at all though. Sorry
Which Spanish pronunciation should I learn? The one in Spain,Mexico,Cuba or Argentina?
Do Spaniard, Mexican , Cuban and Argentine pronounce the word "gracias " al the same ? Spaniard pronunce it as "GRA-fee-as" but Mexican pronunce it as "GRA-see-as " ?
Which accent is the purest? I wanna pick up Spanish? Which accent should I learn?
i think you’ll find the spanish version from spain is the most authentic obviously and the most like latin etc. It is also a lot more harsh sounding on some letters where as mexican, and even more so in cuba and argentina, the spanish is a lot smoother and poetic sounding where the locals have made their own dialect. i suggest you learn traditional spanish if you are just interested in learning a language because there would be more resources and help available, but if the language is for everyday practical use with hispanics than perhaps mexican spanish. either way, the two dialects are extremely mutually intelligible which means whichever you learn you will have no trouble understanding the other.
